Traditional Hush Puppies

Ingredients

  • Crisco® Pure Canola Oil, for deep frying
  • 1 3/4 cups Martha White® White Cornbread & Muffin Mix
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs, beaten

Preparation Directions

  1. HEAT 2 to 3-inches oil in deep fryer or heavy skillet to 375°F.
  2. COMBINE cornbread mix, onion, milk and eggs in large bowl. Mix until blended.
  3. DROP batter by heaping teaspoonfuls into hot oil. Fry 3 to 4 minutes, turning several times until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
